August 8th -- Copenhagen

We arrived in Copenhagen at 12:30 pm safe and sound but extremely tired. In our area of the cabin the temperature was a little above freezing, so it was difficult relaxing and getting any sleep. It is raining and is about 60 degrees -- feels a bit like Seattle. After getting to the hotel we took showers and then just could not stay awake any longer and took naps. We are at the Marriott Hotel on the riverfront. We walked about a mile along the river to have dinner at The Custom House. Had some great photo ops tonight, but our memory card for the camera was in the computer -- guess we will have to retrace some tracks. We had a great salmon dinner and now are back in the hotel room. It is 10:45 now so will try to get some sleep. Tomorrow we will do some touring. We will also tour with our cruise group on Tuesday. Hope all is well with everyone -- sending our love!!

August 7th - New York

Before we start our first blog entry, we want to give credit to our official blog teacher, the Black Belt Queen of Bloggers, Kristi Cutler. She has taught us, patiently we might add, through the do's and don'ts of blogging. If this venture proves successful, full credit goes to her. If not, the problem is with the students who will probably stumble and fail to remember all of her instructions., So, thank you Kristi. We hope we make you proud. Right now we cannot move our pictures to be in the proper order, nor can we add them to the end. So, such as it is we will just have to leave the pictures where they are.

We want to thank our wonderful next-door neighbors, the Croasdale's, for taking us to Las Vegas early Friday morning. What better way could we ask for to start our trip.

We arrived in New York without problems, but were very tired from our first day's journey. We had trouble finding a suitable deli close to the hotel because most of them were closed. We finally settled on a salad bar and then took a walk up 5th Ave and then to bed.
Today we met Scott and his family in Central Park for a wonderful picnic lunch. We had a great time and caught up with Scott and Melissa on their travels of late. We then went to the Museum of Natural History -- it was a lot of fun.
Our flight to Copenhagen was scheduled to leave at 7:00 pm tonight so we arrived at JFK at 5:00 pm. It was a long wait to get to the baggage check counter. Just as we were next in line, some unattended baggage was left at the counter. The baggage check counters were shut down and then tempers started to fly off as people pushed to get to the head of the line. The police had a time maintaining control of frustrated passengers. We finally checked our bags about 45 minutes later. Then while waiting at the gate, it was announced that our flight would be delayed another 4 hours. They gave us each a $6.00 food voucher and $100 credit for another Delta flight. Whoopie!! Left at 11:00

Entering the Blogger Realm

We have decided to take the plunge and start a travel blog. Our primary inspiration comes from Scott's Tour de Force blog. For us, it was wonderful to read of his thoughts and descriptions of his epic experience. We hope that we can relate some of the things we will see and experience during our upcoming Baltic cruise, Passion Play and our personal tour through Switzerland, Austria and Paris.

Sooooooooooo....stay turned!
